I've really got to get this off of my chest, because with all of this submitting, I've seen it about sixty times in the past week... and it's
bugging the hell out of me.
things wrong with the new submission system
* It gives me an error when I upload an image: "Encountered an unexpected error" ... Why is it an unexpected error when I see it
EVERY TIME I SUBMIT SOMETHING? You'd think they'd be expecting it by now. I must then refresh the page, and the image is (magically?) uploaded. I may then fill in the other details to submit my work.
* Uploads don't work at all in IE, and barely in firefox. What browser are you testing this shit on?
* It doesn't default to the largest size when submitting pictures. When I'm submitting a wallpaper at 1152x864 or a photo at 1000x1333, I'm not going to say, "show my viewers a crappy 400px thumbnail," I want them to see
exactly what I submitted. The option is nice, but don't force it on me.
things right with the submission system
* Gives you an option to select a license
* Attempts to streamline the submission process
* Avoids the "do you want to submit a print of this" by having two buttons - "finish" and "make print."
Thank you for listening. Now go read my blog entry on
